    Addis Ababa University is a state university located in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Founded in 1950, it was originally called Addis Ababa University College, and later in 1962 in honor of Haile Serra West I and changed its name to Haile Selassie I University. Changed to current name in 1975.
    It is the oldest university in Ethiopia. AAU has thirteen campuses,has several associated research institutions including the Institute of Ethiopian Studies.
